I met a man in the streets of Ghent. He invited me inside his home and told me openly his life story. He started talking about loneliness and his struggles with this.

When I was looking for him again, he wasn’t home, but I found out about a community center just a 100 meters away. Many people come together in community center De Waterspiegel for a chat, a cup of coffee and some attention. It made me curious why these people come together so often. I visited the community center several times to meet these people, and we got in touch.

They were willing to invite me to their place. I accompanied six people over a time of three months.
